Our Mission
Lima Bear Press is a family company created to capture forever the wonderful tales a father used to make up for his children when they were little. Author Tom Weck spun his entertaining tales to his four young children, especially at bedtime. They wanted to hear these stories over and over. After his children had grown and started families of their own, his second son, Peter, persuaded him to put these stories to print so they would live on and could be enjoyed by children everywhere. Peter volunteered to join forces with his Dad to make this a reality by creating a publishing company to capture the stories of Lima Bear and the tiny beans of Beandom and their animal friends. Their adventures embody important life messages – always within an endearing and hilarious context.
The Megasaurus is born!
The Megasaurus is the first book in the series of now five published books. The illustrations by Len DiSalvo bring the colorful characters and kingdom of Beandom to vivid life. In the back of The Megasaurus, as with all of the Lima Bear Series books, the learning is extended with activity pages and additional learning opportunities. Four more books have now been released including…Bully Bean, The Labyrinth, How Back-Back Got His Name, and The Cave Monster. Seven more are scheduled for completion and release to make this a twelve-book series.
What you will find on our website
On our website, you will find information about our books, new releases, specials, discounts, fun pages for kids, information for teachers, and information for parents to help “extend the learning” as they read to their children. We want to be part of the process of encouraging your children to become life long readers and for you to participate in that process with them through our books. We look forward to sharing our stories with you.
